How it started
Carla's story is CARLA HOME's story.
We tell our origin story through Carla — the narrative voice and face of our brand, created to carry the story of how CARLA HOME really began.
It starts with a gap year. Carla left Manly, NSW for a year in London — one city, one chance to see something different. The excitement didn't last long before it ran into the ordinary: a rented flat that looked good in photos but never quite felt like home, and a kitchen bench she could never get properly organised, no matter what she tried.
Coming back to Australia should have fixed it. It didn't. The same gap was still there — well-made, considered pieces for the way people actually live, sitting somewhere between mass-market catalogues and designer prices nobody could justify. So she set out to close that gap herself: sourcing and curating pieces with real criteria, testing them at home first, and giving the project a name.
That's the story behind CARLA HOME — and it's a real one. Behind the name is a registered Australian business: CARLA HOME is a brand of Wilson Trading Import Pty Ltd (ABN 51 649 718 043), based in 31/2-12 Crows Nest Road, Waverton, New South Wales 2060, Australia.
