Buying guide
What to check before you buy a bookshelf
Height and width decide where it fits. After that, it is about how you want to see what is on it.
Measure height and width
Our bookshelves go from 48 cm to 1.76 m tall and from 27 cm to 1.25 m wide. A low unit sits under a window or beside a desk; a tall one turns a narrow wall into a library.
Open shelves or a cabinet
Open shelves keep books and decor on show. If you also have things to hide, three of our bookcases add a closed cabinet at the bottom.
Ladder and corner shelves
Ladder shelves have open sides and a lighter look, so they suit a small room. Our 5-tier corner ladder shelf is made to fit into a corner.
Built for books
Most of our bookshelves pair a steel frame with MDF shelves in a rustic brown finish. Each product page lists the load it is rated for.

What size bookshelf do I need?
Measure the wall first. Under a window or beside a desk, a shelf under 1 m works well. For a full collection, go for 1.4 m or taller, or a wide bookcase of 1 m or more.
Which bookshelf fits a corner?
Our 5-tier corner ladder bookshelf is designed for corners. Narrow 29 cm shelves also fit beside a door or between furniture.
Do you have a bookshelf with a cabinet?
Yes. Three of our bookcases combine open shelves with a closed cabinet, so you can keep books on show and hide everything else.
Should I anchor a tall bookshelf to the wall?
Yes. Tall, loaded shelves can tip, so fix any bookshelf over about 1 m to the wall, especially in homes with children.
What are your bookshelves made of?
Most have a steel frame with MDF shelves in a rustic brown finish. The small tree bookshelf is made of MDF in black or white.
