One consignment number for every updateWhere to track a StarTrack delivery
StarTrack's tracking page now sends you to Australia Post's tracking tool, so that's where you enter your consignment number. The same number works in the AusPost app.
The tracking tool shows only the latest relevant scans, so an older in-transit update may not appear once the next one is recorded. Scans at central processing centres are a normal part of the route.
Who can sign for a StarTrack delivery?
Anyone at the delivery address can sign for a StarTrack consignment. The exception is an Airlock consignment, which only the nominated person can sign for.
If nobody is there to sign, StarTrack counts it as an attempted delivery. The driver leaves an Attempted Delivery Advice card, also called a "Sorry We Missed You" card, explaining how and when to collect the parcel.
Bring photo ID and your consignment numberMissed a StarTrack delivery? Your options
What you can do depends on the delivery service and what the card says. If the card says the parcel went to a Post Office, you need to collect it there. Otherwise, use StarTrack's Missed Delivery tool to choose one of these:
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Redelivery | StarTrack brings it back to your address. |
| Redirection | It goes to a different address. |
| Authority to leave | The driver leaves it in a safe place, even if you're not home. |
| Depot collection | StarTrack contacts you within one business day with the depot address and collection times. |
Collecting it yourself
- From a Post Office: usually ready the next business day, unless the card says otherwise.
- From a StarTrack depot: not on the same day as the card. Wait for StarTrack to confirm a collection time.
- In both cases, bring valid photo ID and your consignment number. StarTrack records the ID in case it's needed later.
